Revelation 5:1-10
I'm really not sure what to say about today's reading. I've only been reading Day by Day sporadically, and passages from Revelation out of context are even more confusing than they are in order. But I think the writer has found a useful point to make: the Lamb is what's central here. This passage illustrates the holiness of Christ. We are saved by his blood; therefore, he alone is worthy to open the sealed scroll.

Luke 18:1-8a
"...they should always pray and not give up." (vs1) That is a very good verse to hear these days. I know that our troubles are only beginning, so it heartens me to hear that God will not get tired of hearing the same prayers day after day. Come to think of it, this makes sense. God has been hearing our prayers as long as there have been people to talk to him, and if what's written in the Bible is any indication we've been praying the same prayers ever since. But God has infinite grace and infinite patience, and if he hasn't gotten tired of hearing us ask for peace, mercy, and forgiveness yet, then he's not going to anytime soon.
