Magnetic Notepad
We had a magnetic notepad on our fridge that we used to keep our grocery list. When something runs out, it gets written down. At the end of the week we add whatever we need to make that week's meals and do all the shopping on the weekend. We couldn't find another magnetic notepad at any of the stores we visited this weekend, so I figured out how to make one from things we had lying around.
I took one of the credit-card-shaped magnets that came with the junk mail and stapled it to a regular notepad.
Here's the notepad on the fridge next to a convenient magnetic pencil.
