The End of the Blog

After four and a half years of sporadic posts, I have decided to mothball Povinovinonon. From now on, all musings on life and statements of opinion will be posted in my LiveJournal. Meanwhile, the minutia of my life will be available on Twitter. My fashion blog, The Wardrobe Miser, is also still being updated.

Povinovinonon was an experiment at its inception, a place to write about things I didn't have anyplace else to write about. Now, I feel like LJ and Twitter provide enough of an outlet for that. What I'm lacking is an outlet for my creativity, so I've decided to create a new blog more focused on drawing and design and perhaps music. It will appear on the superflippy.net homepage when I get around to creating it. For the one or two of you who read this blog and commented, thank you.

LA Tent City

This is appalling. I find myself wondering the same thing as Cory did: Why hasn't the U.S. media reported on this?

Edit: This article gives some perspective to the video. Turns out, most of the people there aren't foreclosure victims, just some of them. Still a serious problem, though.

A Really Good Speech

I still don't know who I'm voting for in this election, but I had never really considered Obama. I just didn't see any compelling reason why he should be President. But his response to the whole Wright mess has impressed me. Look at the speech he just gave in Philadelphia on the subject of race. He actually seems to understand where both sides are coming from, and does not try to gloss over or re-explain things (e.g. like Kerry did so often four years ago).
